We had an Irish student in college. They always turned up either really early or really late to lessons and eventually I worked up the nerve to ask why.
Well it's kind of obvious when I think about it. Mankind first learnt to tell the time by looking at the position of the sun in the sky. Of course the Irish never had that luxury.
